You think Dad should stay in the house with weekday help. You have the hours, the cost, the sentence he said on Sunday. Your sister is the one who will find the hole โ the stairs, the night wandering, the aide who will not lift. If you ask her what she thinks, she will be kind. Kindness is not what you need.
Ask her to break it.
A review is a different ask than a decision
Decision, opinion, and review move different things. A decision would make the plan hers. An opinion would give you a lean and leave you holding it. A review says: here is a built read, send back the defects, ordered by how much they matter.
Write that in the first sentence. "I want a review of this plan โ specifically where it fails โ by Thursday. A yes with no objection is the least useful reply." People rise to the instruction they are given. If you ask for thoughts, you get thoughts.
A sufficient review is a list. "The stairs at night. The Sunday gap. You are assuming he will accept a stranger, and he said the opposite in March." That is a complete answer. A paragraph of support is not.
Label the guesses so she can attack the right ones
Your assistant has opinions that are not yours. If the session ranked "home with help" above a studio because the model likes aging in place, that ranking is not evidence. Put it in the inferred column or leave it out.
State assumptions as assumptions:
- Stated: he wants to stay, the weekday aide can start the 3rd, the budget ceiling is the number you already agreed.
- Your read: he will accept a stranger if you are in the room the first week.
- Inferred by the model: night wandering is "unlikely given the last visit." If the last visit is all the model saw, say so.
She cannot poke a hole she cannot see. A clean-looking plan with the weak joists painted over is how families sign something and fight in month two.
Leave your venting in the session. The review is the plan, the evidence, and the ask for defects. It is not the story of who has done more.
Make disagreement cheap to send
She may live far away. She may have twenty minutes. The briefing arrives as email and a link. She needs no account. If she already has one, you need an accepted contact.
You approve the send. The draft that sounds like you want her blessing gets rewritten until it sounds like you want her resistance.
Say what a one-sitting reply looks like: three bullets, worst first. If she wants a call after that, the call has a list. A reply is how you know she has it. A fetched link is not a read. You will not see whether she has already called Dad.
When the next plan is sitting in a session and you can feel yourself wanting a rubber stamp, connect your assistant and send a review to the sibling who will not give you one.
