Catching up the person who missed standup

What changed, what is blocked, and whether they owe a decision. A recap that includes every joke from the call is not a briefing.

They were out. The board moved. You can paste the call, or you can tell them what they must do differently on Monday.

Three facts

What shipped. What slipped. What is now their problem — a review, a deploy, a customer.

If they owe nothing, this is an FYI. If they owe a yes, say the yes.

Do not reconstruct the room

Context does not transfer from a transcript, and standup transcripts are mostly noise. Your assistant will include the joke. Delete the joke.

Same thread as the rest of the work

If this continues a project they already sit on, reply there. If it is the first time they hear about a cut, start a thread with that as the topic. Do not bury a scope change in a "quick recap."

They can pick it up in their assistant tonight or in the portal tomorrow. You already wrote the only sentences that matter.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an FYI or a decision?
If they owe nothing, send an FYI so the thread can go idle once they pull it, acknowledge it, or reply. A fetched link is not a read. If they owe a call on a cut, say so. Do not hide a decision inside a recap.
Should I forward the meeting notes?
Send the three facts that changed their work. Notes from a tool they do not open are how people stay behind.
They use a different assistant than I do. Does that matter?
No. They read the briefing you approved. Their assistant does not need your standup transcript. If they already have a RelayLink account, you need an accepted contact first.
