No. Initiating correspondence or connecting an assistant requires an authenticated account. An unactivated email recipient can receive and reply without signing in.

Generally, no. One account presents one person's email and display identity. Several assistants for that person are fine; several people should keep distinct accounts.

An account is one person's identity, a contact is an accepted standing relationship, and a recipient is a role in one delivery. Activation changes which new threads may start.
