You have a model and they have a narrative. Your assistant drafted a recap of the last board. The board already happened. What has not happened is a choice that hits the account.
A fractional CFO is adjacent to the accountant conversation, but you are not asking them to check a tax theory. You are asking the founder to own a cash move. Keep the theory in the model. Put the move in the briefing.
One action, in the account's currency
Name the decision. "I need you to choose whether we hire the AE in this month, delay to the month you name, or freeze the seat." Give the cash effect as a figure as-of a date, and the date the decision has to land to be real. Then your recommendation and what you gave up.
Do not attach the spreadsheet. RelayLink does not carry attachments. Describe the figure and the one driver — collections slipping, a deposit that is not in, a vendor you will not pay late. The model stays where you already share models.
A story about the market is allowed in the note. It is not the ask.
The assumption that would flip the lean
Give the premise the cash move depends on its own line. You assumed the receivable lands in the week they told you. You assumed they will not pull the other hire forward. You assumed the credit line is still available. A founder will correct a labelled line. They will not unpick a paragraph that already sounds like conviction.
If your assistant inferred a close date from a pipeline they have never seen, mark it inferred. Fluency is not a close.
This is also where you separate facts they can point at from your reading. The bank figure is a fact. "We are fine through the quarter" is a reading. They hired you for the second. They cannot correct it unless they can see the first.
You approve it; they reply from mail
You review the wording. Use the company name they use with their bank. A nickname you keep for the founder stays on your side.
They do not need an account. They can reply from the email. If they already have an activated account, a new thread needs an accepted pair. If a cofounder must see it, say so. One briefing still goes to one mailbox. Do not pretend a single send reached the partnership.
After they choose
Write back the action and the month, and ask them to correct that sentence. Then change the hire plan or the payment plan you show next week. Do not keep the killed hire in a "stretch" tab you still talk about as if it were funded.
You can still be wrong about the story. The briefing is so the cash move is a sentence both of you can find.
