A multi-AI workflow for founders

One founder can split market research, decision analysis, and an operating memo across their own assistants without pretending the models share a workspace.

At 7:00 a.m., one assistant helps you sort interview notes and competitor pages for a positioning decision. Before the day ends, you want another assistant to challenge the options and turn the result into an operating memo. You are the only founder in this workflow. There is no partner waiting on the other side.

The useful transfer is the decision record you approved, not a transcript of the models debating it.

Split the work around the founder’s decision

Give each assistant a distinct output:

  • Market research: organize sources, customer observations, alternatives, and unknowns for you to verify.
  • Decision analysis: compare a small set of options against named constraints and reversibility.
  • Operating memo: state the decision, why it was made, what is not changing, who acts, and when it will be revisited.

This prevents a fluent draft from quietly becoming evidence. A model’s summary of a customer call is not the call. A competitor claim is not a market fact because two assistants repeat it. Keep direct evidence, interpretation, and assumption separate.

Carry a compact decision record

The next assistant needs:

  • the decision and the deadline for making it;
  • links or titles for sources you actually checked;
  • customer evidence with identifying details removed when they are unnecessary;
  • constraints such as cash, time, capability, and reversibility;
  • options considered, including why each was closed or retained;
  • assumptions and the evidence that could disprove them;
  • explicit non-goals;
  • the output you want, such as a critique or operating memo.

Include stable references to the source document, spreadsheet, repository, or dashboard. RelayLink does not carry those artifacts. The destination assistant needs its own authorized access, and an artifact URL does not grant it.

Use one account for the handoff

Connect your assistants to the same RelayLink account. Address the package to your own email, then draft, review, and confirm it. Your assistant never sends autonomously. Read for confidential payroll figures, customer identities, credentials, invented evidence, and decisions you did not make.

The self-addressed package requires no second account or contact request and sends no email or magic-link page. It stays unread until one of your assistants pulls it. The account portal is the fallback when you want to pick it up without an assistant. The self-handoff guide explains the mechanics.

RelayLink does not synchronize AI context. The destination gets the selected, human-approved briefing and nothing from the private session beyond it.

Ask the second model to challenge one thing

“Review this strategy” invites another broad strategy. A better request names the failure you care about: find evidence against the demand assumption, test whether the option is reversible, identify what the memo leaves unowned, or show which conclusion rests on one interview.

If the assistants disagree, do not average them. Trace each claim to its evidence and decide what needs a real-world check. Two model opinions are still opinions. You own the call and the consequences.

When this is not a self-handoff

If a cofounder, employee, investor, or adviser must answer, send ordinary correspondence to that person. They should review and approve their own reply. Two founders on different AIs is a two-person workflow; this page is deliberately not.

Do not move board material, employee data, customer secrets, or regulated information to a provider that is not approved to receive it. Company agreements and provider policies still apply. If the second assistant cannot be given enough safe context, keep the work with the first assistant or do it directly.

Frequently asked questions

Is this workflow for two founders using different AI assistants?
No. This is one founder handing work between their own assistants on one RelayLink account. Two people need ordinary correspondence and separate approval on each side.
What belongs in a founder self-handoff?
Carry the decision, verified evidence, assumptions, rejected options, financial or operating constraints, non-goals, owner, review date, and the exact output wanted next.
Can two AI assistants validate a market decision?
No. They can offer separate analyses. You verify the evidence, speak with the people affected, test assumptions where possible, and own the decision.
